A Complete Guide to Booking a Jewelry Photography Session

You have decided to invest in professional photography for your jewelry brand. Smart move. But now you might be wondering: How does this actually work? Do I need to be there? How do I ship the diamonds?

For many business owners, the logistics of a photoshoot can feel overwhelming. At Peyman Khorram Studio, we have streamlined the process into a simple, stress-free workflow. Whether you are in Toronto or shipping your pieces from across Canada, here is exactly what to expect when you book a session with us.

Phase 1: The Discovery Call (No Commitment)

Before we talk about prices, we talk about vision.

  • The Consultation: We schedule a 15-minute video call. I want to see your current website and hear your struggles. Are your current photos too dark? Do they not show the sparkle?

  • The Mood Board: We ask you to share a Pinterest board or 3-4 images from other brands you admire. This ensures we are speaking the same language. Do you want "Dark & Moody" or "Bright & Commercial"?

Phase 2: The Quote & Booking

  • Transparent Pricing: Based on the number of pieces (SKUs) and the complexity (e.g., simple white background vs. complex creative styling), I send you a detailed PDF quote. No hidden fees.

  • The Deposit: A 50% deposit secures your spot on my calendar.

Phase 3: Shipping or Drop-Off

  • Local Clients (Toronto/GTA): You are welcome to drop off the jewelry personally at my Richmond Hill studio. We can have a coffee and review the pieces together.

  • Remote Clients: We receive shipments via FedEx or UPS daily.

    • Pro Tip: Always include a packing slip listing every item. We check this list upon arrival to ensure 100% accountability. Your jewelry is kept in a secure, insured safe when not on set.

Phase 4: The Shoot (The Magic Happens)

You do not need to be present for the shoot (unless you want to be!).

  • Remote Review: For many clients, we use a "tethered" workflow. As I take the photos, they appear on my computer screen. I can send you a screenshot or hop on a Zoom call mid-shoot to get your approval on the first few angles. This guarantees you love the direction before we shoot the whole collection.

  • Cleaning & Prep: Every ring is ultrasonically cleaned and polished with microfiber gloves before it touches the set.

Phase 5: Post-Production & Delivery

Taking the photo is only half the job.

  • Retouching: We spend days (not hours) meticulously retouching the images. We remove dust, correct metal colors, and add "sparkle" where needed.

  • The Gallery: You receive a link to a private online gallery. You can download the high-resolution files (for print) and web-optimized files (for Shopify/Instagram) instantly.

  • Return Shipping: Once the balance is paid, we carefully package your jewelry and ship it back to you with tracking and insurance.

FAQ: Common Concerns

  • "What if I don't like the photos?" Because we do the "Remote Review" in Phase 4, this almost never happens. We fix issues during the shoot, not after.

  • "How long does it take?" Standard turnaround is 7-10 business days from the shoot date.

Conclusion: Professional Results, Zero Stress

Hiring a photographer shouldn't be a headache. It should be the most exciting part of your business launch.By following this structured process, we ensure that your jewelry is safe, your vision is respected, and your final images are breathtaking.
